Description

The Micro Hardware Certification course is a workshop that focuses on Micro Controllers and the associated option boards. The Facility Commander WnX course focuses on FCWnx installation, configuration, and operations.

In this course the technician will learn how to install and maintain Micro controllers.

Technicians will also have the opportunity to explore different reader technologies and connect these to the micro controllers

Prerequisites

  • Intermediate understanding of desktop computing and operating systems
  • Intermediate understanding of servers, operating systems, and networking
  • Familiarity with SQL Enterprise Manager, SQL Server 2000, and M/S Windows Clustering
  • Basic training or experience with access control and alarm management principals and systems
  • UTC Fire & Security authorized Business Partner
  • For End Users (and others), sponsorship by a UTC Fire & Security authorized Business Partner, sponsorship by a EST Strategic Partner or EST representative

Classroom topics also include intrusion zones, elevator controls, anti passback, guard tours, schedules, client-server connectivity, and troubleshooting tools.

Participants will also learn how to administer a system along with viewing and printing applicable reports and backing up and restoring a system.

Course Objectives

  • Software configure hardware controllers
  • Software configure boards and option cards
  • Install Facility Commander Wnx and all applicable service packs
  • Configure a Facility Commander Wnx database
  • Employ Integrated Alarm Graphics to create a visual representation of the facilities and all cameras and readers
  • Determine alarm conditions using standard reports
  • Create facility operator permissions
  • Designate secure intrusion zones
  • Configure client-server connectivity to share a database
  • Use built in troubleshooting tools to resolve problems
  • View live video and record alarm events
  • View and utilize system operation reports
  • Perform system backup and restore

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course you are awarded Product Certification. The certification is valid for the life of the product or until a major product revision. Upon major product revision you are eligible to participate in the re-certification program.
