Part-1: EST3 Hardware & Installation

Description

This course will teach participants the principles of the EST3 Network life safety system. The course is emphasis on the hardware and installation of the EST3 fire alarm system. The functions, capabilities, and applications of EST3 components will be discussed. Also, the course will cover the hardware and installation of Signature Series devices. For full product certification participants complete this course along with the EST3 Programming and Networking Course.

Prerequisites

  • Basic Fire Alarm course or equivalent experience
  • Three years fire alarm system background
  • Experience with personal computer and Windows
  • For end-users, sponsorship by a Business Partner or EST representative

Course Objectives

Upon course completion you will be able to:

  • Identify, describe the function of, and install the components of the EST3 panel.
  • Perform system functions through the 3-LCD Display and Control Panel.
  • Describe the new start procedure and mapping process of the Signature Loop Controller.
  • Identify and install Signature Series Alarm Initiating Devices.
  • Identify, install, and assign the appropriate personality code to Signature Series modules.
  • Configure and install an EST3 network.

Certification

Upon successful completion of an EST3 Hardware and Installation Self-Study course you will be eligible to attend the EST3 Programming and Networking Course. You are awarded EST3 Product Certification on completion of the EST3 Programming and Networking course.

 

PART-2: EST3 Program & Network

Description

This course is the second phase of the EST3 product certification process for those who have completed the EST3 Hardware and Installation course.

This is an intensive five-day course on planning, programming, downloading, and debugging of the EST3 System Definition Utility program (3-SDU). You work with EST-generated site specifications in a classroom setting. Also, you are introduced to and learn to use rule and object programming to design a program that meets the specifications. Specific applications are discussed and programmed. Each participant will need a laptop computer during class and will be provided with a training limited version of the SDU.

  • EST3 Hardware and Installation Course
  • Three years fire alarm systems background
  • Basic Fire Alarm course or equivalent experience
  • Fire Alarm Systems Programming course or equivalent experience
  • Must have basic personal computer skills
  • EST Strategic Partner or EST employee
  • For end-users, sponsorship by EST Business Partner or EST representative

Course Objectives

Upon course completion you will be able to:

  • Design and create a labeling plan
  • Perform rules programming
  • Design, create, and debug a project and signature database
  • Design, record, and download an audio database
  • Select the proper system components to meet specification requirements
  • Interpret a site specification and design a program to meet specification requirements
  • Discuss and apply specific applications

Certification

Part-3: FireWorks Software

Description

These 2 days FireWorks Course takes the participant through an in-depth look at the features, applications, configurations, and programming of single and multi-port FireWorks systems. The class focuses on Fireworks and its relation to EST3.

Prerequisites

  • Basic Fire Alarm course or equivalent experience
  • Fire alarm systems related programming course or equivalent experience
  • Experience with personal computer and Windows
  • Three years fire alarm systems background
  • EST authorized distributor or EST employee
  • For end-users, sponsorship by EST authorized distributor or EST representative

Course Objectives

Upon course completion you will be able to:

  • Add, configure, and manage access levels for users.
  • Add, configure, and manage multi-users.
  • Link native CAD drawings with touch sensitive areas.
  • Design and link custom graphics with touch sensitive areas.
  • Import an EST3 SDU database.
  • Add and assign fire and non-fire objects to a project.
  • Add a printer to the FireWorks unit.
  • Save and open a FireWorks storage file.
  • Configure and connect fire networks to the FireWorks unit.
