Description

This course will teach participants the principles of the EST3 Network life safety system. The course is a classroom training with emphasis on the hardware and installation of the EST3 fire alarm system. The functions, capabilities, and applications of EST3 components will be discussed. Also, the course will cover the hardware and installation of Signature Series devices.

This course is the first phase of the full EST3 product certification process.

For full product certification participants need to complete this course along with the EST3 Programming and Networking Course.

Course Objectives

  • Identify, describe the function of, and install the components of the EST3 panel
  • Perform system functions through the 3-LCD Display and Control Panel
  • Describe the new start procedure and mapping process of the Signature Loop Controller
  • Identify and install Signature Series Alarm Initiating Devices
  • Identify, install, and assign the appropriate personality code to Signature Series modules
  • Configure and install an EST3 network

Certification

Upon successful completion of an EST3 Hardware and Installation course you will be eligible to attend the EST3 Programming and Networking Course. You are awarded EST3 Product Certification on completion of the EST3 Programming and Networking course.

Description

This is an intensive five-day course on planning, programming, downloading, and debugging of the EST3 System Definition Utility program (3-SDU). You work with EST-generated site specifications in a classroom setting. Also, you are introduced to and learn to use rule and object programming to design a program that meets the specifications. Specific applications are discussed and programmed. Each participant will need a laptop computer during class and will be provided with a training limited version of the SDU.

This course is the second phase of the EST3 product certification process for those who have completed the EST3 Hardware installation classroom course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course you are awarded Product Certification. The certification isvalid for the life of the product or until a major product revision. Upon major product revision you areeligible to participate in the recertification program.
